      Land bought* 1688 John Tilney II bought land in 1688 at tract N87, Franktown, Northampton Co, VA. It was in this year that Frances Williams, widow of John, sold 100 acres to John Tilney and twenty(sic) (2?) years later (1690?), he and his second wife Mary deeded it to their son John, calling it Pyney Filed. In 1696 Young Tilney sold it to Benjamin Walter, calling it Joyner's Field.2
      Land rec'd as gift* 1688 He received land as a gift in 1688 at tract N111, Silver Beach, Northampton Co, VA. It was in this year that John Tilney and his second wife Mary deeded 350 acres of this tract to their son John. In 1742 he left the home place, Sandy Point, to his son Jonathan. In 1771 Hezekiah Tilney, son of Jonathan (intestate) sold to John Waddy of Accomack.3

Susanna Smith n. girl Pleasant. To my dau. Sarah Tilney n. Jack and riding mare called "Fleet". To my granddau. Elizabeth Tilney n. boy Jeminy when she is 21 or married. If the n. boy given by me to my granddau. Elizabeth Tilney together with her part of her dec'd father's estate does not eq. the value of one of my own dau.'s shares, then her share to be made eq. to my daus.'s shares. Resid. legatees my children Jonathan, Hezekiah, Susanna and Sarah. Son Jonathan extr. Witt: Edward Turner, Robinson Johnson, Thomas Knight.7
