Edward married three times. He had no issue by his first wife, Margaret Fitton, daughter of Sir Edward Fitton
. He married second, Anne, circa 1581, the daughter of Sir William Davenport, of Bramall.

Sir Edward Knighted of Poynton, Baron of Stockport, High Sheriff of Cheshire, England, was born in 1563 and died November 13, 1609. He was 16th in lineal descent from William Warren, the first Earl of Warren and Surry, who married *Gundred, the daughter of William the Conqueror & Matilda. Sir Edward was M. P. for Liverpool, 1589. Admitted to Gray's Inn February 26, 1588-89. Toward the end of Queen Elizabeth's reign Edward was in the Irish Wars, where he was Knighted July 22, 1599 by Robert, Earl of Essex.
Sir Edward was Lord Lieutenant, secretart and deputy to the Earl of Derby, seneschal of King James in 1603. Sir Edward married three times. His first wife was Margaret Fitton, daughter of Sir Edward Fitton of Gawsworth. There is no record of children by this marriage.
His second wife Anne Davenport, daughter of William Davenport of Bramall. There were twelve children by this marriage.
Married Susan Boothe as his third wife. There were 11 children by this marriage. The History of Cheshire, England has Edward with 15 sons and 6 daughters. Above information taken from The History of Cheshire page 686. *Another researcher shows William the Conqueror's daughter's name spelled Gundrada.

He was the 17th in lineal descent from the first Earl of Warren and Surry, who married Gundred, the daughter of William the Conqueror.
Sir Edward married three times.
He had no issue by his first wife, Margaret Fitton, daughter of Sir Edward Fitton.
He married second, Anne Davenport, circa 1581, the daughter of Sir William Davenport, of Bramall.
Their first born son, John, died young in 1621, married Ann, daughter of George Ognal. She died at Stockport September 20, 1644. They had a son, Edward, born May 10, 1605 and buried at Stockport September 10, 1687 (one report said 1667) who married Margaret Arderne, daughter of Henry Arderne. Edward and Margaret had eight children. They also had a son John, baptized in 1606, who died unmarried. He was living in St Mary's County Maryland in 1642. He was killed by Captain Thomas Corwallis and party in 1644.
He named his second son John who is the descendents of the Warren line in Maryland.
WILLIAM, THEIR FIFTH CHILD, WAS IN VIRGINIA BETWEEN 1633 AND 1640.

His children migrated to Virgina and became the first of the Warren line there.

High Sheriff of Cheshire, knighted in 1599 while serving in the Irish wars, who was sixteenth in lineal descent from William de Warren, second Earl of Surrey, died 1138, according to Watson's "Ancient Earls of Warren and Surrey and Their Descendants," was the immediate progenitor of several early Virginians
. Sir Edward had no issue by his first wife, a daughter of Sir Edward Fitton, and married secondly, circa 1581, Anne, daughter of Sir William Davenport, of Bromall. His fifth child by this marriage was William Warren, who was in Virginia between 1633 and 1640. I have no other information of him.
"The aforesaid Sir Edward Warren, of Poynton, married, thirdly, 1597-8, Susan, born 1577, died 1636, daughter of Sir William Booth, of Dunham-Massey, and had by her Lieutenant Radcliffe Warren, who was unfortunately killed in Claiborne's raid on the Isle of Kent in 1635 (I have no knowledge of his issue, if any), and Thomas Warren, some of whose descendants for several generations are traced by their wills and realty transactions. In 1735 he patented 300 acres of land in CHarles City county, Va. - 150 acres in right of his wife, Susan Greenleaf, widow of Robert Greenleaf, "an ancient planter," and 150 acres for the personal adventure of himself and two servants. He was a burgess both in James City county and Surry county as late as 1666. He had as second wife, marriage contract dated 25th September, 1654, Elizabeth, widow of Major Robert Sheppard, of Lower Chipoaks. He had sons John, Richard and Thomas, but by which wife they were is not in evidence. The son, Thomas Warren, Jr., lived in Isle of Kent, Md. (as did also his brother, Richard), and was a planter, having a farm, seat or manor called 'Poynton,' after the ancestral seat in Cheshire, and was Lieutentant in the county company of soldiers. His will, dated 19th December, 1684, proved 28th March, 1685, names his wife as "Elizabeth," but in Barton pedigrees she is called "Sarah." She was a daughter of Captain William Barton, of Charles county, High Sheriff, Justice, and one named in the "List of Good, Honest, Substantial Protestants in Maryland."
